Holiday Activities
On Hari Raya, people start the day by putting on clean, brand new clothing and going to the mosque to donate food and money to the poor and for a special prayer. The younger people also show honor and respect to their elders and visit their ancestors’ graves. After prayer, people usually visit relatives and give the children money and/or gifts. In the evening, there is usually a large family gathering and a big dinner.
